Scarlett provides specialist support and screening services for Specific Learning Differences (SplD). These include Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and even encompass aspects of Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) although separate.
SplD's are a group of diagnosible processing disorders with related conditions and which have a high degree of overlap as well as co-occurrence. The presence of SplD's and related difficulties, whether meeting criteria for diagnosis or not, can have an affect on the way we learn and process any incoming information which can make typical learning experiences feel more challenging than they may be for others.
The difficulties in processing incoming information are thought to stem from neurological rather than psychological differences in the brain, are genetically shared in families and are not affected by or have any affect on intelligence.
Support services available for children, adolescents and adults include screening assessments, social-emotional courses, life-skills training, assertiveness training, communications training, dyslexia reading/writing support, education and careers support as well as counselling and coaching psychology support for all typical queries as well as for self-esteem, self-efficacy and resilience development.
